Favorite Outdoor Wedding Venues in Edmonton
Now that the Covid restrictions are being lifted, organizing a wedding can be extremely stressful. Some couples are still opting for venues that offer good ventilation or outdoor spaces for their elderly guests. With the recent boom in wedding inquiries, our industry friends are scrambling to coordinate for those that are postponed in 2020 and the newly engaged. I put together this post to help you with the first step, check out my favourite outdoor wedding venues in and around Edmonton.
Here are some of my favorite outdoor Edmonton wedding venues.

1. Fairmont Hotel Macdonald
Fairmont Hotel Macdonald has effortlessly delivered timeless luxury in the heart of downtown Edmonton. No doubt, this hotel has one of the best outdoor Edmonton wedding venues. It has a tiled patio, pristine lawn, and views of the Saskatchewan River and, everything you could ever want and need. This outdoor venue can accommodate intimate and large weddings.
2. Pine and Pond
Pine and Pond is Central Alberta’s Premier outdoor wedding venue located 20 min west of Ponoka, Alberta, and about an hour from Edmonton. As they said, it’s worth the drive! They have everything in one place. A space for getting ready for the groom and bride, a beautiful outdoor wedding venue, and a huge see-through tent for the reception. And best of all, the management behind this beautiful venue has excellent customer service!
3. Snow Valley Ski Resort
Snow Valley Ski Club, Edmonton, is located just off the Whitemud Freeway. The Snow Valley Ski Resort is a beautiful rustic-chic chalet venue with unparalleled views of Rainbow Valley. It has plenty of lawn space available for you to set up your ceremony space and reception tent, or you can make use of the facility’s wraparound deck for your event.
4. St. Albert Botanic Park
You can tell there’s a lot of love that’s been invested into this beautiful botanic garden in the city of St. Albert, just north of Edmonton. A wedding venue that is in touch with nature. Also, this venue has a stunning garden containing trees, shrubs, and flowers, including the circular Rose Garden
5. The Whitewood Barn
Whitewood features spacious views with acres of sprawling spruce trees, wood-burning fireplaces, and unique reception space. There is a rustic yet elegant 2400 square foot barn nestled under a 60′ X 40′ Ramada. Also, they have a hidden secluded area for the wedding ceremonies. Additionally, every event will have access to their cozy outdoor fire pits where you and your guests can come to share your memories.
6. Private Backyard
Most brides love a backyard wedding! They’re intimate, convenient, and at the same time, budget-friendly (if not free) venue. And of course, there are endless backyard wedding ideas to transform it into anything you want it to be.
7. The Enjoy Centre
Somewhere between a lush garden and a spacious conference hall exists The Enjoy Centre, with its perfect mix of sunlit ceilings and functional event space. As a matter of fact, it’s perfect for ambient light photographers.
Other Outdoor Wedding Venues I recommend for small and Intimate weddings
1. The Cochrane Ranchehouse
Perfect for an outdoor wedding venue for intimate weddings. Although, the RancheHouse is in Calgary and approximately 30 minutes away from the city limits. I would still recommend this venue because of the beautiful landscape background. At the same time, this venue can accommodate both indoor and outdoor up to 210 guests.
2. Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel
Obviously, Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel is my absolute favorite venue to photograph intimate weddings! It is such a beautiful place, especially the terrace that connects the natural beauty with the proximity to the wedding reception venue and hotel amenities. It’s a perfect spot to capture moments during the ceremony. Meanwhile, take advantage of their special promo for intimate weddings available from January 5 – April 30, 2021
3. The Norland Historic Estate Wedding & Event Venue
The Norland Historic Estate Wedding & Event Venue is a perfect venue if you love the timeless, classic feel for your wedding day. In other words, it is truly a hidden treasure right here in Southern Alberta.
