FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS YOUR STYLE?

Fine art wedding photography is about creating images that are aesthetically beautiful and impactful. My work is a mix of fine art and photojournalism. I love candid shots, capturing not only the main points of the day but also aspects of the day that you might miss. This could include the sky, people’s reactions during the ceremony, reactions during the first dance, etc.

DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH ELOPEMENTS?

Yes! I love elopements and small intimate weddings! I usually book these weddings Sunday to Friday, or I’ll accept a Saturday wedding if it’s a date I still have available within 4 months of your booking date. Please contact me for special elopement pricing.

WHO IS YOUR IDEAL CLIENT?

My clients tend to be creatives or professionals that value photography. They're fun, have beautiful, kind souls, and love to be outdoors. My clients have a great sense of style and plan detailed-oriented weddings, with the ceremony being a priority. Their marriage after the wedding is just as important and after the wedding day, they usually end up hiring me for their photography needs as they grow together and expand their family. My clients trust me and give me the freedom to create and tell the story of their day through my eye.

YOU CAN PHOTOSHOP THAT, RIGHT?

It depends. As a photographer, I want to get everything as perfect as possible in-camera. Posing, location scouting, and camera
settings can "fix" most things before I even click the shutter. If your uncle photobombs you, I'm going to retake the photo — it's much
easier to get the photo right than to fix it with Photoshop. Many photographers charge for extensive editing in Photoshop,
because it can be very time-consuming.

DO YOU GIVE UNEDITED/RAW PHOTOS?

No. All professional photographers I know don't give UNEDITED/RAW photos. It’s like asking an artist for their unfinished painting. I do this not only because I want you to have the best possible images, but also because our photos are an expression of who we are as artists and individuals. To us, releasing unedited outcast images feels like selling our creative soul. I’ve never done it, but when I’m asked, my heart would actually physically hurt.

WHAT’S THE WAIT TIME FOR PHOTOS AFTER THE WEDDING?

It is my goal to deliver your photos within 4-6 weeks from your wedding date. Certain times of the year are extremely busy and may push us out to 8 months. While I strive to deliver your images as quickly as possible, my editing process is very involved and I don't want to rush it just to make a delivery date. I know that you are SUPER excited about your photos, so I almost always send a sneak peek in an e-mail within a week after the wedding.

HOW MANY PHOTOS WILL WE RECEIVE & HOW WILL WE RECEIVE THEM?

On average we deliver around 600-800 images per wedding and you'll receive all edited high-resolution digital images in USB.
If you order an album, I will forward you proof of your album design, you will have 2 weeks to supply me with the changes you want. Once you are happy with your album you will sign an Album Approval Form, and then your album will be ordered. It takes about 3-4 weeks for your albums to be printed once ordered.

DO WE HAVE TO FEED YOU?

Oh yes please, that would be very kind of you. After being on your feet for the whole day, running around, and taking amazing pictures I would love to stay hydrated and be fed and keep my energy levels up & to keep me from going Hangry (hungry & angry). I do not have to sit at a fancy table, I would just need a space where I can place my gear – usually we like to buddy up with the DJ. I prefer to eat while you are eating, this gives me the opportunity to be more effective with my time, as no one wants pictures of themselves chewing a steak.

DO YOU CHARGE A TRAVEL FEE?

Travel expenses are covered for any weddings in Edmonton. Outside that range, I only ask for gas and accommodation. Our out-of-town/country packages are custom designed and we’ll talk through that together and work out the travel details.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD WE BOOK YOU?

If you find a great photographer, book them! Good photographers book a year or more out and won't be available forever.
Nothing is more frustrating than choosing a wedding photographer and then finding out that they booked out your date a week prior.

WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?

Great question! Well, first things first. If you haven’t already head over to my Contact page and give us a shout! I’ll do our best to respond right away or within 24 hours. This will get the ball rolling and we’ll aim to set up an in-person meeting straight away to get to know each other more and see if we’re a great fit.
Assuming that things go great and we want to make this official, I’ll shoot you a booking proposal that can be completed entirely online. This includes a contract & deposit both of which are required to make things legit.
