About

photographer
Hello there!

I’m Vince, a fine art film wedding and lifestyle photographer with a passion for capturing the authenticity in a relationship with a natural and effortless charm. Keeping it simple works for almost everyone, and works for a lifetime. I’m a hybrid photographer, so I utilize both digital and film to create romantic and timeless photographs. My style is organic and timeless, and my inspirations are drawn from the simplest of moments. I pride myself in respecting and appreciating different cultures and traditions, ensuring that I capture the moments that are truly meaningful to you.

My intention is not to simply document the events of the day, but to find the beauty and love in each moment. With over five years of wedding photography experience, you can be sure that you will be well taken care of. My main goal is not merely to capture signature moments, but to illuminate the moments ‘behind the moment’. A wedding is, after all, one of the few times in our lives when our entire family is together. The story of the event, including the lead up and preparation is almost as important as the event itself. I love getting to know couples and discovering the unique meanings and intentions behind their celebrations. This is your story, and it is with utmost pleasure that I am able to share your story with your loved ones and the world.

One of the key elements of my work is my ability to see the beauty in the little things.  There are a lot of photographers that can take a decent picture of a happy couple, but I endeavour for each photo to be a work of art.  This means seeing something ‘ordinary’ like a touch of hands by the bride and groom and turning it into the extraordinary. It means recognizing when a special moment is about to happen and being in the right place to capture its essence.

I often take a minimalist approach, allowing for the authenticity of the moment to speak for itself.  My style caters to couples that want their wedding photography to be beautiful and meaningful, not just ‘snapshots’ of the day. Fine art photography allows me to recognize and accentuate the beautiful; creating artful photos out of everyday people places and things.

Film simply allows me to utilize my artistic eye and skill to stylise things in a way that will make you look your best giving you the best results possible to capture your memories. If you are a couple who has placed quality, beautiful, artistic photos high on your list of priorities then maybe we could grab some coffee and talk about your plans.  Together we can achieve amazing results that you will cherish for a lifetime.

FAQ

WHAT IS YOUR STYLE?

I am a fine art, portrait photographer that specializes in natural light and film look techniques. My work is a mix of fine art and photojournalism. I love candid shots, capturing not only the main points of the day, but also aspects of the day that you might miss. This could include the sky, people’s reactions during the ceremony, guests reactions during the first dance, etc.

DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH ELOPEMENTS?

Yes! I love elopements and small intimate weddings! I usually book these weddings Sunday to Friday, or i’ll accept a Saturday wedding if it’s a date I still have available within 4 months of your booking date. Please contact me for special elopement pricing.

DO YOU CHARGE A TRAVEL FEE?

I have no travel fees for weddings for 2018 if you are getting married in Canmore, Banff, Calgary, or anywhere in the Rocky Mountains. If you are getting married elsewhere and would love for me to photograph your wedding, shoot me an e-mail!

HOW MUCH COVERAGE DO WE NEED?

Most of our couples book an 8 hour wedding collection and are quite happy with this. Apparently, it varies from wedding to wedding but this amount of time generally covers everything from prep to early dancing. For larger weddings or cultural weddings we recommend bumping this to 10-12 hours. I always offer help with timelines and work with you to maximize my time with you as well.
DO YOU OFFER ALBUMS OR OTHER PRINTED PRODUCTS?

Absolutely 100%! We believe so much in enjoying and preserving your memories in print! There’s nothing worse than a couple investing so much in their wedding day just to have those precious memories sitting in their sock drawer or on a facebook page. No person should have to scroll past their neighbours lunch photos to view their wedding. The printed product is something we take very seriously and believe every couple should enjoy their photos in print for forever. Ordering a wedding album is an investment you’ll never regret making. You’ll enjoy and view it 25 years from now, and your kids will enjoy it when their 25 themselves! You’re not doing this for you. You’re doing this for your children. Your grandkids. They will want to know about you. And they won’t be able to use a USB key. I can promise you that. To view more printed pieces and the products we offer CLICK HERE.

WHAT’S THE WAIT TIME FOR PHOTOS AFTER THE WEDDING?

It is my goal to deliver your photos within 4 weeks from your wedding date. Certain times of the year are extremely busy and may push us out to 6 weeks. While I strive to deliver your images as quickly as possible, my editing process is very involved and I don’t want to rush it just to make a delivery date. I know that you are SUPER excited about your photos, so I almost always send a sneak peak in an e-mail one to two days after the wedding.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD WE BOOK YOU?

If you find a great photographer, book them! Good photographers book a year or more out and won’t be available forever. Nothing is more frustrating than choosing a wedding photographer and then finding out that they booked out your date a week prior.
